At this stage of your SMS marketing journey and experience, you no doubt know what DND is and the implications of this service. In case you’ve forgotten, DND stands for DO-NOT-DISTURB, and it is a service from the NCC aimed at controlling unsolicited and scam messages. While using our bulk SMS service, you would have noticed that the way to handle non DND numbers and DND numbers is not the same. Hence the need to be able to identify the DND status of phone numbers in order to treat them accordingly. We are pleased to inform you of a tool that allows you to achieve this; the phone number extractor and separator.
Why You Might Need to Separate Phone Numbers By DND Status
It might be necessary to use this tool for separating phone numbers by their DND status for the following reasons:

You want to confirm whether or not a phone number on your recipient list or your personal phone number is active on DND

There is a need to send SMS to many phone numbers and you would love to leave out DND numbers or treat them differently

To have a full picture of how many of your recipients’ phone numbers are active on the DND service
How to Separate Phone Numbers By DND Status for Bulk SMS
The following procedures should be followed to separate phone numbers by their DND status:

Login to your account on app.smartsmssolutions.com using your email address and password

Under ‘My Dashboard’ on the left menu, click on ‘My Tools’

Then select ‘Phone Number Extract/Separate’

If the phone numbers are in a text, copy and paste them in the box tagged; "Text Containing the Phone Numbers"

Alternatively, if the phone numbers are saved in a file, click on ‘Choose File under the box labeled "File Containing the Phone Numbers"

Scroll down on the page, and click the drop-down arrow under Separation

Select “By DND”
-
Then click on the button; “Extract/Separate Phone Numbers”
Note that under the Separation section, you can also separate by the GSM network or both DND and network.
This tool will give you insight into the present DND status of your phone numbers, and hence direct you on how to go about sending SMS to them to ensure delivery.
