In this article, I will show you the simple steps to enable you to deactivate the Do Not Disturb Service with no stress. But before we go into that, let's briefly explain what the Do Not Disturb service is all about.
What is the DND service?
DND service (Do Not Disturb) was introduced by the National Communication Commission (NCC) here in Nigeria around July 2016. This service serves as a solution that will prevent users from receiving unsolicited text messages. Although for you to use this service, you have to activate DND. And it costs nothing to do it.
What are the disadvantages of using the DND service?
DND service has proven useful as it prevents and protects users and subscribers from receiving text messages that they do not want to see on their devices. But still, some disadvantages are associated with DND service regardless.
The sole aim of activating DND is to prevent you from receiving messages from third parties, and text messages such as BUlk SMS & VAS fall under this. But sometimes, It would not be a good idea for you to activate DND on your phone number because promotional and informational messages from businesses and organizations come as Bulk SMS.
And you would not know about the text messages or miss out on them if you are using the DND service. In essence, the DND service blocks your phone number from receiving bulk SMS that can be relevant to you. So in order not to be in the dark, it is not always advisable to activate DND.

- The International Route.
- The Transactional Bind/Bank Route.

The International Route:
The international route is designed to treat SMS sent through it as if they were transmitted through an international channel from outside Nigeria to Nigeria. You can sidestep all local policies that affect SMS delivery, including DND, by taking this path. When you want to send an SMS, you may now choose the international route on the SMS page.
The international route is an SMS delivery option to DND numbers. Because the messages transmitted are assumed to be from outside Nigeria, this route is designed for effective delivery to both DND and non-DND phone numbers. As a result, they are not affected by the many regulations that prevent SMS transmission.
