That means you do not only get to send SMS to your contacts but also be able to get responses from them as an inbox. These responses can be accessed on your SIM Hosting portal and also forwarded to you as an SMS, email, or through a dedicated API. The latter is what Inbox forwarding is all about.
With the inbox forwarding system, you do not necessarily need to log in to your bulk SMS account to read replies to your messages. In fact, you can get it immediately even without internet access.
Inbox Forwarding Options on SIM Hosting
- SMS: The inbox can be forwarded to your mobile phone as an SMS. You can include unlimited phone numbers to receive responses, separating them with a comma. The cost of these inbox messages will be charged from your SMS units.
- EMAIL: You can also have the replies forwarded to your email address(s), separating the list of email addresses with a comma.
- API PUSH URL: Message inbox can also be forwarded to your dedicated API address of HTTP post that runs on JSON format.
- CUSTOM APP: You can also choose to get the inbox forwarded to a third-party app with a custom push format
How to Set Up Inbox Forwarding on SIM Hosting
If you are an active user of the SIM Hosting service and would love to set up inbox forwarding on your account, follow the steps below:
- Go on the SmartSMSSolutions website and log in using your email address and password
- On your Dashboard, click on SIM Hosting
- Then select Inbox Forwarding
- On the next page, enter the following details, leaving the one you do not wish to activate blank:
- Phone
- Push URL
- Custom App
- Once you’ve filled these, ensure the status is Enabled
- Then click on Update Push Inbox
Please note that forwarding of inbox to your phone as SMS is billed from the SMS units in your account. You can also disable this service at any time
if you wish to discontinue. With this feature activated on your bulk SMS account, you will improve communication with your contacts list, by getting immediate and necessary feedback that helps improve the services you render.
